New Family Room Arrangement Creates Areas for Conversation, Play, and Work.

I revitalized the look and feel in this space by utilizing the architectural challenges rather than allowing them to limit me. I played off the lowered ceiling in the alcove and wooden structure enclosing the fuse box and used them to create a cozy spot for work/study as well as an area to house children's toys.

The challenge in this area was the ledge that ran the length of the wall and around to the fireplace. By adding matchstick blinds and using the ledge for accessories, I created a space that was conducive to fireside conversation or TV viewing while keeping open areas for children to play.

In this room, I created a small study area where the client would be surrounded with objects reflecting his hobbies and interests.

The client needed larger space to house china and office supplies. The results were spectacular! The contents were not only visible and easily reached, but their placement was most appealing to the eye.
